Authore Aegidio Gutbirio [1617 - 1667] Doctor of Theology by the University of Giessen. He was one of the most important and most learned orientalists of his time. He set up a printing shop in his own house, which existed from 1664-67 and had the types for the translation of the New Testament into Syrian made at great expense and printed in his own printing shop (Novum Jesu Christi Testamentum Syriace cum punctis, vocalibus et versione latina Matthaei” , 1663—1664), which caused him many inconveniences. The edition of the New Testament includes his Lexicon Syriacum, continens omnes NT Syriaci dictiones et particulas, 1667; and "Notae criticae in NT Syriacum", 1667.
